I am voting for Diane Arnold because she is a fighter for people that have been through racial injustice like me. Her actions prove she cares about racial equity and education quality for kids.
When I researched Diane, I found out that she’s been fighting to keep schools open for a long time. She fought to keep George Washington High School open. She fought for equitable education in that school and for many other schools in our neighborhood and around the entire district. She doesn’t support for-profit charters and she doesn’t support closing schools. She knows how important schools are for a neighborhood. She advocated heavily for the referendum that gave IPS teachers the biggest pay raise in history.
There’s likely a lot of other great things Diane Arnold has done for our district, things that didn’t make the news or didn’t get a lot of public attention. All the things I have learned about her make me proud to vote for her and to have such a strong advocate representing my district.
Every step she takes is a step towards progress for IPS kids like mine and I want to see the progress she is making continue. Every vote counts. My ancestors fought for my right to vote so I take this privilege very seriously and will be using my vote and my voice to support Diane Arnold. I hope you do too.
